GDI Vulnerability in Windows now has patch. We have had several clients that got viruses caused by this one. If not patched you can be infected by visiting a web site or email web link which has the malicious software. Microsoft considered this so urgent that they released a patch ahead of the usual 2nd Tuesday scheduled patches. Monitor prices are dropping. Dell has a 20” wide screen for about $450. Samsung 21” is under $700. I still feel that lots of workspace is a good investment to improve productivity on the computer. Dell’s 24” has gotten excellent reviews, if you can afford it.

Many TV stations are also making their content available on the internet. In addition, there is video that is available only on the internet. www.tvexe.com offers a program to connect to internet TV from all over the world, with searching tools for the shows that interest you. www.masterytv.com provides self improvement seminars on demand. Some are free in exchange for your email address, full access with Subscription. On demand movie services such as www.cinemanow.com allow you to download and watch movies.

We have been recommending Trend antivirus. We have seen some problems with Symantec (Norton) antivirus 2005, including difficulties with registering the product to get updated pattern files. www.antivirus.com
Virtual machines are a great solution for people that like to experiment, or need to support older software on new computers. A virtual machine is software that emulates a pc on your pc.
