These are simple steps you can take to make your business visible and searchable on the web, most of which are free.  I am including an article reprint from the chamber news on Web Visibility to show you how to get your business listed on the internet. It has gotten a good response, and hopefully will be useful. Let me know what you think.  In order to help local companies get listed, I have volunteered and been accepted as the editor of the Open Directory project www.dmoz.org for Visalia local listings.

Several clients have had problems sending large email attachments. Gmail offers up to 10 MB per email, where most ISP’s limit messages to 2MB. To send large files, consider www.dliveo.com, which allows you to send very large files without the hassle of setting up an ftp site.  Currently free, although they plan to start charging.  The web site was very slow to respond when I checked it – they may getting a bigger response than they planned for.

A vulnerability has been discovered in some wireless internet cards which allows a remote user to gain full control of the computer. The wireless card merely needs to be turned on, not necessarily in use. The problem is with the driver, and vendors are working on updates. Turn off your wireless when not in use until updates are available.   News article: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2006/08/hijacking_a_macbook_in_60_seco_1.html
